The Metro Vancouver Anaphylaxis Group, created in 2009, is a volunteer parent-run group whose focus is to provide support for those at risk of anaphylaxis through building understanding, educating others and providing information and resources to its members. Everyone who is at risk of anaphylaxis or looks after someone at risk of anaphylaxis is encouraged to become a member. Our members are mostly located in the Lower Mainland area of BC, but we welcome participants from other locations in BC as well.
Would you like to learn more about anaphylaxis and how to manage a life-threatening allergy at home, work, school and play? Would you like to meet other individuals and parents who face similar challenges and learn from them? Would you like to make a difference by helping to create a society that understands the needs of people with life-threatening allergies and their families? If any of these interest you then your membership in this group can be rewarding. While we hold occasional face-to-face meetings and seminars, all members are encouraged to remain connected either electronically or personally in between official meeting dates.
We are also available to provide support on an individual basis for those with a new diagnosis who are feeling overwhelmed. Please contact us if you would like to be notified about future events or have any questions.
Our active Facebook group is a great place to ask questions and receive support. There are many parents of children with allergies, as well as individuals with allergies themselves, who frequent our Facebook site.
